Interesting portrait button of the actress in one of her most famous roles, first performed in 1900. L’Aiglon or The Eaglet was the story of Napoleon’s only son who died tragically young. The buttons show a well modelled portrait of Sarah Bernhardt with an eagle border. One-part construction with a silver plated finish, and loop shank on the back. Interesting vintage glass buttons. Clear glass cylinder with facetted sides and flat surfaces top and bottom, and discs of rounded red glass attached to the flat surfaces. The cylinder is then turned on its side and has a metal loop shank inserted into the clear glass, secured with a metal collet. Vintage Art Deco style. Price is per button.
