Antique silver button, with pierced design of a bunch of flowers surrounded by an Art Nouveau style border of whiplash curving ribbon. Hallmarked with the lion for sterling silver, leopard’s head for London Assay office, and date letter “g” for 1902. Also has the maker’s initials (above left) but these are unclear. Small antique button with a pierced brass base. It has a circle of cut steels round the rim, individually rivetted to the base, surrounding a tiny carved mother of pearl circle. U-shaped shank. Some age related wear to the steels as shown, but still a charming button.

Antique solitaire button, with detachable shank which is released with a spring mechanism. It has a ceramic (or possibly enamel) top, with a very pretty blue border and white centre over painted with flowers. The two areas are separate by an incised dotted circle of scrolls, highlighted with gold lustre. Brass back and shank, backmarked: ROLLASON & WOOD PATENTED. Slight rubbing to the gold lustre.

Old button, probably hand made, with a solid core covered in cream velvet, embellished with embroidery in metallic thread and tiny beads. The fabric is gathered at the back. No shank but you would pick up threads from the gathered back, to attach to garment.
