Pair of antique solitaire or bachelor buttons, with detachable shanks which are released with a spring mechanism. These have an engraved design of a circular strap and buckle, surrounded by a scrolly rim. Backstamped with the George West signature and setting sun logo. The tops look like silver (unmarked and untested) and backs of the shanks are mother of pearl which is an unusual touch of extra quality. Price is for the pair.

Vintage three-piece dress buckle, brass metal with silvered central circular panel depicting crossed tennis rackets. Hooks at each of the outer corners to attach to the belt and one of the 3 panels unhooks and joins with a hook and loop to join the buckle. Backstamped: “MARTIN” MADE IN ENGLAND - PAT NO. 660336. Antique enamel buttons depicting two figures in the style of “French Fops”, wearing exaggerated costumes of the late 18th century. Border of facetted cut steels individually rivetted through the base. Flat back and loop shank. The cut steels have lost some of their original sparkle, and the metal backs show signs of discolouration, but I have not attempted to clean them. The enamel is in good condition. Beautiful and rare collectables - price is per button.
